Thank you for this honest and vulnerable post Tanya, I imagine this can’t have been easy for you.

I am so sorry for how hard this time must be for you, and how sad you feel, but what I felt from reading this is how lucky your friend Helen was to have you, and I have no doubt she would have felt so very grateful for your friendship ❤️ xx

Thank you Julie. It’s been a very emotional couple of weeks. The positive from all of this is that it’s encouraging me to write every day here in Substack. I want to document my days as a 49 year old, come what may. X

Thanks Collette, really appreciate your message. Cake is always a good idea. Which reminds me I need to bake a new one. Any recipes you’d recommend for a nice September cake?

Nigella's Storecupboard Chocolate and Orange Cake is my go to when it starts to get a bit cooler - it's delicious warm straight out of the oven! And so easy to make. It's heavy and squidgy, almost like a gingerbread.

It’s a shame I can’t send photos, as I could share the recipe from the stuck together pages of my well used, chocolate splattered book! 😊

You maybe sad Tanya but that is the most beautiful uplifting tribute to a fantastic woman. I may not have known Helen but your words paint a picture of an incredibly kind, caring, loving, feisty woman and that is meant in the best possible terms. Look after yourself, those she loved and those you love, today and everyday we never know what is round the corner ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
