I would love one too! I can’t decide if I’d love a really vintage one or a slightly more modern one like the one on the poster. The historian in me wants the old, old one. I’m sad because I remember my grandfather had one but it disappeared after he died. I used to sit at that typewriter and play with the keys. I loved pressing multiple keys and watching all the letters getting stuck. I remember it so vividly and I must have only been 9 maybe.

Exactly what I was pondering over. I’m looking for a classic looking typewriter but one that functions well with no broken keys. The research for one has been quite a distraction, but lovely all the same. Which colour would you prefer?

A distraction is a good term for it 😂 it’s providing adequate procrastination from my day job, that’s for sure! I’d never really thought about a colour to be honest! I think because I wanted the proper old style ones and they didn’t really do colours much then. Otherwise, orange if I can get it, or green!

Ooh nice zesty bright colours. If you find one please share a photo of it and I’ll do the same 👌😁

Apparently Instagram was listening and showed me a reel of someone painting a writers bookshelf with a turquoise green typewriter on it! I can’t seem to share it here 😭

We have one! My husband did the research and picked it up in mint condition on Facebook market place. Suzy Walker also know a lot about them and sells them on in a local vintage stall in Alnwick. ✨✨

Ooh how lush. The old romantic in me would love one 💫

It irks me so that they’re all men… Is that weird? I detach from announcements now as soon as I see a male dominated feature, whether book, film, tv or cooking! I know, I know….

Awww, there were some strong minded women in the movie. They were relatives to the owner of the California Typewriter store. It was quite heartbreaking to watch at times, because there wasn’t enough revenue in the business to support the family 😞
