My late husband always wanted to own a bookshop. He worked for a publishers and the British Library before I met him. If I was younger I would love to own a book shop like the ones you show. Cosy, warm creative and welcoming to all. Maybe you could start a new retreat night time writing in a book shop love, love the idea ❤️❤️
I been to Poetry Pharmacy in Oxford Street recently, such a tiny yet beautiful, quiet place full of books in the middle of all the hustle and bustle. Have to visit the Daunt Books soon.
I’m yet to visit the one in London. You’ll love their flagship store in Bishop’s Castle, it’s so magical and if ever there was a book shop for a night time lock in, it’s The Poetry Pharmacy 📚
The magic of a bookstore...the independent that opened in my town is close to perfect for me. There is coffee during the day and wine on some evenings. I would love for there to be more author events though but I think that is the only thing. If I could walk to it from my house that would be ideal!
There is even a brick wall and people stick little rolled up secret messages in the mortar holes! Reading is magic. It is always what helps me through (well, and writing too).

Ooh now that’s a beautiful idea. I’m launching a Read + Rest retreat next year. I’ll want to be attending as a guest though 😂📚
Maybe an idea for an old curmudgeon to arrange 😘😁
I think it’s a lovely project and one you’d love to arrange 👌🫶
There is a Bookshop/cafe/coworking space which is a bar at night in Bermondsey! Haven’t been yet but looks cool
Let’s go visit!
I’ve been begging Chrissie from Bookbar to open a Cardiff branch. It’s the perfect bookstore.
Now that would be epic 🤞
Love a cosy bookshop. One near me does lock-ins and it’s my dream that family will organise it as a surprise for my birthday one year.
I love that 👌📚🤩
What lovely selection of bookshops! I went to Daunt Books last weekend whilst visiting old haunts in Marylebone. Such a lovely, quaint bookshop.
Did you know that the Poetry Pharmacy has recently opened a shop within Lush on Oxford Street in London? I didn’t get to go unfortunately. Next time!
On my travels I discovered that Waterstones at Piccadilly Circus is open til 9pm 6 days a week and is huge! 📚☺️📚
