Writing ... I want it to be very good, if not perfect, so I find it hard to start or I constantly edit as I write instead of just getting a load of stuff down. BUT, in view of the fact I've set myself a deadline to publish my Substack intro, I've been playing with handwriting little paragraphs in a notebook, just getting thoughts on paper so, sort of, taking the pressure off myself. When I was aged 9, a teacher told my mother that my perfectionism would make life difficult for me!
I totally understand. Have you read a book called ‘Write It All Down’ by Cathy Rentzenbrink, I highly recommend it. I hosted a retreat with her last year and she spoke lots about this topic. I once read a statement by James Victore that perfection is a head game we play with ourselves. No one outside our head actually cares about the nitpicks details we stress over. Amen 🙏
Can’t wait for my book to arrive with you, Tanya, I address perfectionism head on and the final experiment is all about creating good habits!
Ooh I hope it arrives before Christmas 🤞🎄😁
Definitely will! It’s published 21st x
Perfectionism is the bane of my life ... it's such a hard mantle to throw off!
Hey Lynn, yes indeed it is. Could you give me an example where perfectionism stops you in your tracks?

Thanks, Tanya. I haven't seen that book so will look it up. And, yes, you're right about nobody else caring about the details I stress over!
