Oooo I’m forever trying to dream up different places to work from! My recent faves have been a reading room at the Arnolfini art gallery in Bristol, and the cafe of the bouldering gym I go to, and the cafe by the Bristol Lido, a beautiful Victorian outdoor pool. Would love to work on the beach though! That picture is amazing

Awww I’d love to co-work at the lido. A couple of my friends who live near Bristol love it there. Thanks for your kind words about my photograph. It was a real joy to be a part of the exhibition 📸

Yes Tanya!

A friend and I were just discussing this over a good chin wag and a coffee the other day. She is a self-employed reflexologist and loves her work, her clients and teaching, but the behind the scenes stuff can feel lonely and isolating for everybody.

I too crave connection with others all the time, I’m not good at being in my own head space for long periods of time, but what I also miss from working in a team is the encouragement, the motivation and the inspiration, it’s easy to slip into a lull and be devoured by self-doubt when lone working.

Anyway, my friend said she’s thinking about setting up a co-working space for people who would like to connect whilst working on solo projects 😍

I think it’s a brilliant idea! 💡

Wish we lived closer Tanya, I would love to co-work with you in a cosy book corner or coffee shop 💖

That's brilliant news. I think you'd get so much out of co-working with your friend. I wish we lived closer, I've literally just set up a new 'brunch club' for a group of women I used to meet regularly. Isn't it crazy how little we socialise with our sisterhood since the pandemic struck. Let me know how the co-working session go x

Lots of people thought it was photo shopped but we actually staged the whole photo shoot. Such a giggle trying to set up before the tide was back up 🌊⛱️

I love this idea of co working in a local bookstore! I have been living in Paris for almost a year, and I haven’t found “the”place. The closest thing is the American Library in Paris. But I am longing for a cozy place to write, or just read, surrounded by books and book lovers, while enjoying a good cappuccino and coffee cake (yes, I love all coffee!)

Oh how lovely to call Paris home 🇫🇷

You’d love Hay on Wye - the Welsh bookish town, famous for the world renowned book festival 📚Streets upon streets of bookshops and cafes. If ever you visit Wales let me know 🙏

Yes, of course I heard about Hay on Wye and it’s festival. I’ll love to go! In 2019 I went to Wigtown, the Scottish Book Capital, and run their Open Book Shop for a few days. Best holidays ever!!!

See you there 😍🍁🍁. Oh I am desperate to leave - my favourite daydream is handing in my notice 😆. I just need to find a job in a totally new industry that pays the mortgage... easy right?! That’s why I love finding inspiration from people like you who have lovely alternative jobs and businesses (not that I think for one moment it’s all buttercups and sunshine!) 💛💛

Oh Tanya I love this! I feel the same way, I have one foot in the corporate world where I couldn’t belong less, and one foot in the writing world where my heart and soul is: both very lonely for their own reasons. Anyone up for a stormy beach-front cafe filled with candles and books and snuggly armchairs? 🤓🤓

Leah I'm on my way! Wouldn't that be wonderful, for us all to meet once a week in a cosy beachside cafe. Are you planning to leave the corporate world?
