I agree that Christmas is coming too soon, and I just want a moment to breathe. I'm hoping the next three weeks include a nice dusting of snow that will slow down the hub bub here in Colorado.
Any snowy photos? Maybe I should start a note where we could share all our snowscapes called "In the Quiet of Snowfall: Welcoming a Season of Slow Living". It’s snowed in Wales quite heavily a few years back and it was so cute. Reminding me of the film “The Holiday”. Right I’m going to start a note now. See you over there ❄️
I do confess, however, to having had my first mince pie of the season a couple of days ago. We have a farm shop and do home baking so someone has to do tasting - a tough task, lol. It was delicious, and I'll happily eat as many come my way 🙃
Will drop you an email as I'd love to do your journaling workshop!
Awww Lynn you have a farm shop?!?! Where? My fav! Look forward to your email. I’m yet to have my first mince pie. Waiting to eat it with my cuppa whilst I write my 1000th journal post in the morning. I cannot believe I have stuck to something longer than 100 days never mind 1000 days. I’m going to substack about it tomorrow 💫
Here in the US I’m grateful that Thanksgiving fell early this year. I get a whole extra week to breathe before the chaos of December is upon us. I have young kids and I delight in their delight, but it sometimes feels like I’m on a train that isn’t stopping at any stations. I’m trying to really breathe into this week where we are not rushing, and bask a little in the glow of Thanksgiving leftovers and comfortable gratitude.
Well hello from across the water. I have seen a few posts from my writer friends including Clover Stroud who I host memoir writing retreats with and her posts have been glowing about Thanksgiving - this being her first year living in DC. I’ll ride off your positive vibes this weekend. Thank you Shae 🙏💫🎄
Thank you for sharing, Tanya. I'm definitely feeling like I need the festive magic at the moment as I've been struggling with the darkness of November. But not the commercial, in the shops kind. Mainly the twinkly lights, the quietness, gentle acoustic music with a hint of festive vibes. Also the last couple of days have been that crisp blue-skied kind which I really needed. This given me a definite boost. Wishing you the quietude you need.

Ah I’m with you on the ‘make it snow so we can go slow’ idea!! I bet it looks so pretty when it does snow in Colorado ❄️
We got snow in Western Colorado this morning! It’s been a beautiful touch.
It was gorgeous this morning in Colorado Springs as well. I had family in town and couldn't get out. I'm sure Garden of the Gods was stunning.

We're on the Black Isle, about 8 miles north of Inverness. We have a fruit farm.
1000 days! That's amazing! Look forward to reading about it tomorrow 🙂
