I adored this. Just finished a week of writing about a better way to well and I completely resonate with the idea of dialing back all the noise of should dos and getting back to what we actually enjoy. This feels so radical now when we're under so much pressure to do the latest wellbeing thing.

I’ve heard a lot about morning pages but don’t know much about them. I’ve got worse at doing things “the way they’re meant to be done” as I’ve got older I think, and I end up feeling resentful of anything that’s meant to be for me alone that feels like an obligation. My word this year is freedom and I’m stubbornly refusing to be obligated by anything that I can. Thanks for a great read Tanya 💛

Morning Pages was created by the one and only Julia Cameron. I learnt so much from reading her remarkable book The Artists Way. I just couldn’t commit to her Morning Pages ritual. I started calling mine Anytime Pages but still struggled. It works wonderfully for some and not so much for others. Let me know if you give Morning Pages a go ✍️💫🙌

I used to get so frustrated because I hated doing morning pages, while everyone around me seemed to be singing their praises. It wasn't until I started exploring different types of journaling prompts, lists, mindful writing exercises, etc. that I found my groove and started to feel the benefits of journaling.

Amazing synchronicity! I have of late been having very similar thoughts about the latest wellness trends. There is no one size fits all version of doing life. We’re all, very thankfully, separate individuals and at different times experience different needs. I do walk every day and journal semi-regularly, but do not make of it a religion. Every day introduces us to new possibilities and opportunities as long as we greet each morning with an open mind and a generous heart. No judgement!
