Dear Friend
How are you today? Ain't no sunshine here in Cardiff this morning, but I’m feeling rather invigorated after my morning walk along the rugged coastline.
Whilst out on my walk I was reflecting over a conversation I had with a couple of women yesterday. Both explained that their journaling practice often falls by the wayside, becoming just another task on their ever-growing “to do” list. I hear this time and time again, that women start journaling with enthusiasm only to find their commitment waning over time. During my conversation yesterday, the women I spoke to wanted to know how I’ve managed to consistently journal every single day. Good question, so I thought I’d answer it here on Substack.
If you’re not consistently journaling every day, it’s not a reflection of your discipline or dedication - it simply means you haven’t found the prefect journaling technique for you, yet.
Over the past few years of studying therapeutic journaling practices, I’ve noticed how traditional journaling methods often follow a one-size fits all approach.
“Open a notebook, start writing and pour out your thoughts.”
While this works for some, it leaves many feeling overwhelmed, unsure where to start or what to journal about. You and I both know how fast paced life can be, where every minute counts, so this open ended journaling approach can feel more daunting than therapeutic. I know I’ve been there and I’ve wrestled with these strict techniques and hated how it made me feel.
I’ve recognised there is a gap, hence why I’ve dedicated the past couple of years to researching and developing therapeutic journaling methods, which are crafted to fit seamlessly into your life, no matter how hectic it may be.
I was explaining to the two women I was speaking to yesterday, that my techniques go beyond mere writing prompts. They’re structured, science backed strategies that guide you through the process, making journaling not just beneficial but really enjoyable and efficient. From 2 minute "micro-movements" to "framing the day” lists, each technique is tailored to extract maximum therapeutic value in minimal time.
The proof is in the pudding! Take Sarah, an oncologist who struggled to find time for her own self-care. Using the “Rage on a Page” journaling method, she now dedicates just 5 minutes each day for deep reflection, setting her intentions and really channeling her emotions into something much more positive. Or consider Joey, busy single mum who has been navigating a really bitter divorce. The “Stolen Moments” technique showed her how to journal in short bursts - while waiting for the pasta to cook or during her daughters swimming lesson. These brief sessions have become her daily sanctuary, dramatically reducing her anxiety levels. More than anything she has reaped the rewards of journaling rather than scrolling through her social media channels.
How It Works…
You might be wondering “What makes my journaling techniques different to say Morning Pages or Gratitude Journaling?” Well it’s a combination of five factors…
Personalisation - through a simple quiz, we identify your unique needs, preferences and lifestyle, matching you with techniques that resonate with your personality.
Structure - each journaling method I teach offers a clear framework, eliminating the “blank page syndrome” that deters so many women.
Time efficiency - some of my techniques range from one minute journaling sprints to 15 minute deep dives, fitting into any busy schedule.
Emotional targeting - whether you’re battling stress, seeking clarity or nurturing gratitude, there’s a targeted technique for you.
Community support - some women are joining my “journal with ease” club every Thursday at 1pm to dip their toe into guided journaling. Some of whom, love it so much, they join my “Rage on a Page” program. Both communities are a balm for the soul, where women feel empowered through their journaling, more courageous in sharing their untold stories and learn how to channel their emotions into something more positive and creative.
If you’ve tried journaling but couldn’t make it stick, maybe it’s time to try a different approach. If you’ve been following my social media posts and read my Substack you’ll know that my journaling techniques have already transformed the lives of numerous busy women. I’ve helped them become unstuck, find consistency, and discover more clarity and calm in their daily lives.
I can’t ever imagine a day without journaling, I write so I can breathe. Therapeutic journaling is my oxygen. I’m on a mission to show others how journaling doesn’t have to feel like a chore, but over time it becomes a cherished part of your day. I guarantee that you’ll discover a journaling technique that fits so seamlessly into your life that you can’t imagine a day without it.
Over the next few weeks I’m creating 7 Day Journaling Guides focusing on a variety of different life challenges, such as...

My therapeutic journaling techniques aren’t just about how to get your pen onto the page every single day, they are gentle and warm hearted practices. My journaling methods are about creating a sustainable, enjoyable and thought provoking practice that becomes as natural as making your morning coffee or tea. A therapeutic journaling practice can go from “should do” into a “can’t wait to do” ritual with ease. With the right approach, your journaling will become a daily date you look forward to, a moment of calm, clarity and connection with your innermost self.
I’m always here to answer any of your journaling questions.
