As the weekend retreats into the rearview mirror, the prospects of the new working week is racing far too quickly towards me.
I’ve just returned from a wonderful weekend, visiting friends in brilliant Belfast. Such a bustling city filled with vibrancy and hope. I loved every minute, from the coastal walks, mooching in the markets to drinking Guinness in the local bars. Some bars were bursting with people, giggling, sharing stories and tapping their toes to the infectious live music.
Having to transition from such good times to the demands and routine of the working week, can sometimes leave me with the Monday blues. Yet in this delicate space on a Sunday afternoon, between leisure and responsibility, there lies an opportunity to set the tone of the week. Since journaling every single day for the past 3 years, I always like to find my groove before Monday arrives, as for me it’s essential for a smooth and productive transition.
If the above resonates with you, especially after enjoying a fun weekend and you’re dreading the working week ahead, you might find these prompts and reflections useful.
I hope they weave some positive energy into your upcoming days. Whether through self-reflection or goal-setting, these prompts I’ve created should help you find your groove.
1. List three things you accomplished or enjoyed during the weekend that made you feel proud or fulfilled. How can you carry that sense of achievement into your weekday routine?
2. Explore any feelings of reluctance or resistance about returning to your Monday routine. What aspects of your daily life bring you joy, and how can you reframe your mindset to approach them with enthusiasm?
3. Consider the positive impact of rest and relaxation from your weekend. How can you integrate small moments of self-care throughout your week to sustain a sense of well-being and balance?
4. Write down your priorities for the upcoming week. Identify one small, achievable goal for each day that aligns with your overall well-being and helps you regain your groove.
5. Describe a daily ritual or routine that makes you feel grounded. How can you amplify the impact of this ritual to set a positive tone for the week ahead?
Until the next time
Take care and stay safe xx
