Now more than ever I recognise the need for a deliberate declaration.
To take it easy over the weekend.
What about you? Have you promised to take it slow this weekend?
Over the past few weeks, my work, with its delightful intensity and unexpected turns, has demanded my all.
It’s time for me to relax properly, to sink into moments of quiet and to reflect on the whirlwind that’s carried me thus far.
This weekend isn’t about filling hours, but about savouring each unhurried moment, allowing my mind to properly unwind. My sole agenda is to embrace the unhurried pace, to revel in the slowness of time and to grant myself the luxury of a peaceful interlude amid life’s beautiful chaos.
To be honest, I’m not very good at relaxing. Never one to sit still. Always feel like I should be doing something. I guess I get a buzz of the busyness. But being a 49’er has certainly made me shift the gear down a little. I’m hoping that by reflecting over the past few days, writing about my journey and diving into a good book this weekend, will lull me into a slower rhythm and remind me to rediscover the joy of simply being.
I’m hoping to finish reading “Went to London, Took the Dog” by Nina Stibbe. It’s such a tonic. What will you be reading this weekend? I’ve also got “The Leftover Woman” by Jean Kwok to finish which is quite the emotional thriller. Oh and a newbie I picked up from the charity shop called “A Sky Painted Gold” by Laura Wood about a coming of age romance, where the protagonist Lou dreams about being a writer and wondering about an empty house that’s been standing still for years.
Right I best sign off, it’s time for another cuppa, I might even take it back to bed!
Until the next time
Take care & stay safe xx
