Sometimes words fall short in capturing the essence of my mood.  Today, it’s all about letting my photos do all the talking.  As the Monday morning blues are weighing heavy on my shoulders.  I knew it would.  The afterglow from a weekend away with friends always leaves me feeling a little low.  My mood usually lifts after a good hour striding along the shoreline, wind in my face, ridgebacks playing by my feet, but not today.Â
It is what it is. Â
It’s ok to feel in a funk, isn’t it?!
It’s just a feeling.
Like the storm, it will pass.
What always lifts my mood, is sifting through some of my recent photographs. As I love how a single photo possesses a unique ability to transcend my limited communication and convey emotions in just a glance.Â
I’m addicted to taking photos, every single day, no matter how dull the day may appear.  I love how a single photograph can capture a moment's raw authenticity.  How it can preserve the intricate details of a moment in time.Â
I’m always curious about what feelings my photos evoke in others. You might notice something completely different to what I witnessed. That aspect of photography fascinates me.Â
Also, I notice that when my words fail me, my photographs become the vessel for my storytelling. Â
I wonder what you noticed in my gallery of photos today.
Do you have a photo that speaks volumes about how you’re feeling in this present moment? Care to join me work through these therapeutic journaling prompts? I’m hoping they’ll help shake my mood and lift my spirits.
Weathering the storm within - reflect on this stormy Monday as a metaphor for your current mood. Â Describe the emotional feelings within and explore what specific thoughts or experiences contribute to the turbulence.
Mapping your mood - create a mood map for the day. Â Identify potential triggers and positive anchors that can influence your emotional landscape. Â How can you navigate the storm to find moments of clarity and calm?
Shifting perspectives - write about one thing you’re looking forward to this week.  Shifting your focus towards positive anticipation can help redirect your mood and mindset.
Maybe happiness is this… not feeling that you should be elsewhere, doing something else, being someone else.
Until the next time
Take care and stay safe xx
I love taking photos everyday too! And I use them in my gratitude journaling x
