Hello new followers and familiar faces, I am honoured that you’re taking the time to read my Substack. My Substack launched back in 2022, where I rambled on about ‘life with ridgebacks’, but now my ramblings ‘with ease’ focus purely on my ONE mission in life. Which is to help and encourage more women to channel their emotions into something more positive and creative, through the practice of therapeutic journaling.
So I hope you’ll continue to join me on my journey of discovery into the profound importance of embracing life ‘with ease’.
Each day I write from experience, sharing stories and offering guidance on how it’s possible to live life ‘with ease’. Over time, my stories have resonated with so many women. By being passionate and courageous about my mission, I now help women turn their rage into resilience.
Here’s the thing, I’m nobody special, just a happy-go-lucky Welsh girl, hanging out on the beach with her ridgebacks, working towards her one big mission in life. To share the benefits and teach new techniques on how to implement therapeutic journaling into each and every day. WHY? Because by adopting a daily journaling practice it will help you reduce stress, release pent up feelings and process complex emotions. As well as encourage self-reflection, help you focus on your dreams and goals and gain perspective and clarity in your life.
Over the past 3 decades I’ve lived a very colourful life. I’ve failed, I’ve succeeded, I’ve lost everything and built it back up again. I’ve survived and the only way I’ve managed to maintain my sanity is through channeling my rage into something more positive and creative.
As I continue to navigate the twists and turns of life, I’ve come to realise a simple yet profound truth: when we approach life ‘with ease’, we cultivate a state of harmony and balance that nurtures our physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.
Think for a moment about the word DISEASE - a condition that arises when our bodies and minds are in a state of dis-ease. It’s a striking reminder of the profound impact that our inner state of being can have on our health. When we’re not ‘at ease’ - when we’re stressed, anxious or overwhelmed - our bodies and minds suffer and our health deteriorates. It’s as if we’re living in a constant state of dis-ease, which can eventually manifest in disease.
Think about how your body reacts when you go on holiday, some of us find that once we relax we start feeling a little unwell, or a cold starts to develop. Our bodies aren’t supposed to be so busy, so stressed, so under pressure 24/7. Be honest and ask yourself, when was the last time you paused for thought and checked how your body really felt. For instance, do you suffer from regular headaches or tummy pain? Our bodies react when something isn’t quite right, especially if we are constantly feeling stressed, anxious or in rage. I have a great book about this topic, it’s written by Bessel van Der Kolk called The Body Keeps The Score
So what if you could flip the script? What if you could prioritise ease into your life - approaching each day with a sense of calm, grace and flow? I believe that by embracing ease, you can create the conditions for health, vitality and wellbeing to flourish. Ease isn’t about avoiding challenges or living a life free from stress; it’s about how we choose to respond to life’s ups and downs - with resilience, adaptability and a sense of inner peace.
I hope that over the next few weeks and months you’ll enjoy reading my Substack, as I explore the transformative power of being ‘with ease' and how I aim to cultivate it in every aspect of my life, and share my learnings with you. Through my therapeutic journaling workshops and programs I offer storytelling strategies, mindfulness practices and reflective exercises which I write about here on Substack. If you’d like to learn more about the basics of therapeutic journaling, here is a recent post that might be of interest How To Journal
I truly believe that with the right mindset, we can reclaim good health, vitality and happiness by embracing the power of ease in our lives. After all, when we ‘re at ease, we’re in a state of harmony with ourselves and the world around us, and that’s where true healing begins.
