Dear Friend
How are you feeling today? I hope you’re sat somewhere all cosy and warm. It’s day four in my happy place - I’m in “The House on the Beach” and even though it’s raining, I’m feeling real good. There isn’t a place anywhere in the world I’d rather be right now. West Wales is BEST!
Welcome back to “Sunday WORD:ship”, my weekly Substack journaling session. As I close another bustling week, hopefully you can join me for the next 10 minutes or so. I know you’re busy. I know your world pulls you in a thousand directions. But right here, right now, this is your time. Just 5 minutes. Can you steal 5 minutes just for you? Your space to breathe, to reflect, to simply be.
Remember, this journaling practice isn’t about perfection. It’s about presence. It’s about showing up for yourself, even if it’s just for a few precious moments, even if loved ones need you. Whether you’re curled up in bed, squished on your sofa with the kids, sitting at your kitchen table with breakfast plates needing to be cleared away, or you’re stealing a quiet moment in your car, know that this time is sacred.
Just before we take to the page, take a deep breathe.
Feel your feet on the ground.
Notice the weight of the pen in your hand, the texture of the paper beneath your fingers.
This moment of noticing, is your anchor to the present moment.
Now let's dive into the following prompts. I keep highlighting throughout my daily musings, there’s no right or wrong way to respond to journaling prompts. Let your words flow freely, without judgement.
This is your space to explore, to question, to let go.
If you’ve attended any of my journaling workshops, you’ll know I like to encourage my students to use a variety of prompts. One of my favourite journaling techniques is called a “Micro-Movement” and the other is called “Sentence Stems.” These journaling prompts are brilliant particularly if you are short on time and feel too blocked to journal. So please help yourself to the following sentence stems, all you have to do is complete the sentences…
