West is best and the journey from Cardiff to Cardigan, especially when you hit the coastline is an exhilarating one. Whilst on my drive down here, I listened to a few podcasts. Mainly self help about mindset, money and midlife mayhem.
One particular podcast that I really enjoyed was ‘The Diary of a CEO’ hosted by Steven Bartlett. Blimey he gets to interview some really interesting folk. Today he interviewed Michael Easter, author of ‘The Comfort Crisis’ and one of the world’s leading experts on behaviour change. I was so intrigued by this writer, especially as his latest book “The Scarcity Brain” is a topic I’ve always been fascinated by. I found myself captivated by Michael's profound insights and perspectives on how we can break free from the often self imposed limitations that hold us back.
There are many times when I doubt my own abilities, when my imposter syndrome taps on my shoulder for usually the fifth time during the day. So I was glued to Michael’s every word, especially when he was talking about positive mindset and behaviour. He spoke lots about the very core of human behaviour, shedding light on the habitual loops that often sabotage our potential for growth and fulfilment.
Easter’s message is a compelling one, challenging us to reevaluate our beliefs and attitudes towards life. He argues that we all possess the resources necessary for personal transformation, the key lies in recognising and harnessing them. Easier said than done though I guess. I’m definitely going to order his book, or maybe I should purchase the audio version, so I can listen to it whilst I walk the rugged coastal path with the Ridgebacks.
His message has really resonated with me, as I, too, am deeply committed to empowering individuals, particularly midlife women, to live with a sense of ease and purpose. Through therapeutic journaling, I strive to guide women on their journeys of self discovery and positive change, aligning closely with transformative concepts that Michael explores in “The Scarcity Brain”. Have you read any of his books? I think one of his previous books called "The Comfort Crisis" is another one to go on my Christmas book wish list. My drive over to West Wales was a little more interesting, mainly because I think I’ve found a kindred spirit in Michael Easter, both in the pursuit of personal growth and in striving to live a life with ease.
Until the next time
Take care & stay safe. xx
Thanks for the recommendation Tanya, I'll add it to my massive list! 😜 Have a lovely weekend in Cardigan, it's very wild and wet this morning in Mumbles 💦 ☔️
My pleasure. It’s very windy, storms are brewing but no rain atm. Heading to Newport for a long walk around the coast and then grab a posh coffee n cake in the village. Hope you have a cosy weekend x
