My journal stack is growing taller by the month. They sit on my shelf, some hidden, a few by my bed like a timeline of my life, their navy spines looking mighty fine and a testament to years of thoughts, feelings, breakthroughs and breakdowns. Lately, I’ve been staring at them, simultaneously drawn to them and a little wary of what lies within some of their pages.

I don’t know about you and your relationship with your old journals, but I find myself tip-toeing around them, feeling both the pull to sit quietly and read them from cover to cover, and also a strange resistance to doing so.
