Dear friend
How are you today? I hope you’re taking it easy this morning and all cwtched up (Welsh word - meaning: a cuddle or embrace, with a sense of offering warmth and safety).
It’s ever so stormy out, I’m sat writing my Substack overlooking the waves thundering onto the shoreline, but it’s oh so cosy indoors. This is the best feeling on a Sunday morning, a moment of hush as the world begins to wake up.
Welcome to my Sunday WORD:ship, where the art of journaling meets the tranquility of a restful Sunday. If you’re like me seeking solace and self-discovery through the written word, you’ve found your haven here.
This Sunday, I’m delighted to offer you a curated roundup of some of my recent journaling focused posts, handpicked to nurture your spirit and inspire you to journal. Consider this a gift - an invitation to dive deeper into the transformative power of therapeutic journaling.
Hopefully you’ll enjoy exploring some of my more personal journaling techniques. Some of which are an introduction to what I teach on my program "Rage on a Page" and at my "Journal with Ease" Thursday Club - which paid subscribers get access to and discounts towards.
You’ll also be able to glean insights from my most popular top tips, helping you to find time to journal amidst the busyness of life. Plus, discover some of my favourite journaling tools that have become trusted companions on my own journey with therapeutic journaling. Please help yourself to the following articles, do let me know if you’d like another round-up of my journaling posts next week…
Unlocking Creativity with just one word a day
The Write Tools enhancing your journaling experience
Busting the Time Myth making room for what really matters
Back to Basics establishing your journaling ritual
It's Never Too Late women in their 70’s are starting to rage on a page
But that’s not all. As we pause for thought this Sunday and honour it as a day for rest, I’ve created a few prompts to help you unwind, recharge and reconnect with yourself as you navigate a slow Sunday.
1. Describe your ideal Sunday morning ritual; that nourishes your soul and sets a positive tone for the day.
2. Write about a simple pleasure that you’d like to savour today, whether it’s a leisurely brunch, a stroll along the beach or a cosy afternoon nap.
3. List 3 things you’re grateful for in this moment, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant.
4. Explore your intensions for the day ahead, what activities or practices will support your wellbeing and bring you joy?
5. Recall a fond memory from a past Sunday that brings a smile to your face and fills you with nostalgia.
6. Imagine your ideal Sunday evening wind -down. What activities or rituals would help you unwind and prepare for a restful night’s sleep?
I dearly hope these prompts serve as a gentles reminder to take it easy this Sunday. We seem to have forgotten how to truly rest. If you have a busy day planned, at least take 10 minutes out with your journal, do something today that your future self will thank you for.
Until the next time
Take care and stay safe xx
