I’ve got a book to read and sunshine to soak up, so I’m not going to be hitting the keys and writing for very long today. I just wanted to share some photos of my morning beach walk with the ridgebacks.
There was something so magical about hiking through one of the largest sand dunes in Europe this morning, I pinch myself on days like these, I’m so lucky to have such beauty on my doorstep in South Wales. If you’re ever visiting and would like to venture out over miles of sand dunes, I highly recommend a trip over to Merthyr Mawr near Ogmore by Sea.
The dunes stand like ancient sentinels, whispering tales of the ever shifting shoreline. I love how the salty breeze always carries with it a sense of freedom and possibility. The power of the rolling waves offers a rhythmic symphony which seems to wash away any of my worries or concerns.
It’s so hypnotic.
The ridgebacks love it and I love watching their bursts of enthusiasm as they cascade down the half pipe of golden sandy hills. Their boundless energy and curiosity are a beautiful reminder that life’s most profound moments can be found in the company of those that love us unconditionally.
This is my kind of mediation.
A blissful Sunday far far way from the maddening crowds of the city. This state of slow living is where I find peace.
In between capturing the scenery, I took a moment to think about the generations before me, who’d have trodden the same sandy shores, a sort of tapestry woven of countless footprints in the sand.
If only the dunes could talk, what stories they would tell.
I hope you’re enjoying a slow start to your Sunday.
Until the next time
Take care & stay safe xx
