Dear Friend
How are you today? Another day filled with glorious sunshine here in South Wales, and I was in my element soaking up all the rays whilst out walking with my ridgebacks earlier.
For those of you who are new to my Substack I wanted to highlight something that is really dear to my heart, every Thursday at 1pm, you’ll find me ready to host a guided journaling session, where I tend break all the normal rules of how to journal, alongside a brilliant group of like-minded women. That’s because I’m the host of “Journal with Ease”, a gentle 45 minute guided therapeutic journaling session via zoom.
For me, coaching and teaching therapeutic journaling isn’t just a job, it’s a passion, a calling. Here’s the thing, I love highlighting the life-changing magic of the practice that is unique to me and I thrive off empowering other women to make it their own. Ooh and as a gentle reminder, “Journal with Ease” is a space where paid subscribers get free access, at each session…
There is a new theme for the week, from topics on “how to embrace the present moment”, “conquering procrastination”, “finding your true purpose in life” plus an introduction to some of my unique therapeutic journaling techniques.
I encourage those that struggle with the traditional “morning pages” to break the rules, no disrespect to Julia Cameron, she is a journaling guru, but many of us, me included don’t align with such strict instructions at the break of dawn.
We dive into ways to explore therapeutic journaling styles tailored to your needs
I also share how to overcome creative blocks or fears about someone reading your deepest thoughts and secrets.
Basically each session is a springboard into how to make journaling a non-negotiable daily ritual, no matter how busy you are.
I basically journal like my life depends on it, my journaling technique is a no-bullshit practice that takes dedication, grit and commitment. Showing up to journal daily can be at times bloody hard work. But if I can do it, you can too. I know some of you may have tried and possibly failed to keep a consistent habit before. Which sucks I know. In the past I’ve wrestled with the page and felt so frustrated that I quit journaling over and over until I created my own version of journaling. So many women that I’ve met, worked with and now coach, have expressed that it’s really difficult to keep a consistent journaling practice. So you’re not alone. Those expensive, dusty notebooks lining your shelves? No problem, during “Journal with Ease”, you’ll become a journaling PRO in no time at all.
Because therapeutic journaling doesn’t just change your journaling life - it changes your ENTIRE life. You’ll feel empowered, build unshakable self-esteem, and grow in confidence. Plus, it’s one of the best ways to level up your writing skills organically. Not forgetting the wonderful community you’d be joining. Women who arrived as strangers are now becoming life long friends.
I practice what I preach, daily.
Journaling is my oxygen; I’d rather journal than brush my teeth if I had to choose. But I won’t make you choose. For just 45 minutes per week, I’ll be your trusted journaling guide.
The life-changing benefits of therapeutic journaling are clear, and Nicola’s story is a powerful example. At midlife, Nicola had long struggled to keep a consistent daily journaling practice despite her deep love of writing and self-reflection. She felt frustrated, unable to develop the habit she craved.
That was until she discovered my Rage on a Page program and then joined “Journal with Ease”. Since showing up for my weekly guided sessions, Nicola’s journaling practice has truly blossomed. Through the accountability and inspiration provided, she’s finally experiencing the profound therapeutic impacts firsthand.
Not only has Nicola been able to make therapeutic journaling a daily ritual, but she’s taken her passion for written expression even further by starting work on a memoir. Her journal has become a sacred space to capture life’s moments, process emotions and gain clarity during this pivotal stage in her life.
Moreover, “Journal with Ease” provided the unexpected benefit of community for Nicola. In the safe circle of like-minded women, she has met some amazing new friends who uplift and support her journaling journey. This tribe provides the encouragement to keep showing up, pen in hand. And it’s an absolute joy to witness.
Nicola’s transformation exemplifies why I’m so passionate about spreading the power of therapeutic journaling with ease. In our fast paced world, it gives us a way to slow down, go inward and truly get to know ourselves.
From increased self-awareness and emotional intelligence to reduced stress and anxiety, the science backed benefits of therapeutic journaling are vast. I’m in my element researching and learning from some of the best doctors and psychologists both here in Wales and across the oceans. But perhaps the greatest gift is the empowerment and voice it provides, through getting your thoughts and feelings onto the page, allows you to rewire your narrative from the inside out.
If you’ve struggled to establish a consistent journaling habit, or question whether an ancient practice is truly worthwhile in the modern age, let Nicola’s story inspire you to try. Amazing things can happen when you show up for yourself through the simple act of writing one word, one day at a time.

Hopefully I’ll see you this Thursday at 1pm. In the meantime, please help yourself to one or all of my therapeutic journaling prompts curated just for you…
1. What’s your journaling journey looked like so far? Take a couple of minutes to reflect on the highs, lows, breakthroughs and blocks you’ve experienced.
2. If your journal was a door, what would it open for you? Where would it lead?
3. What are your biggest creative dreams and how might journaling help manifest them?
4. What is the one limiting belief that has been holding you back from being creative?
5. Picture your happy place. Describe it in vivid detail and why it means so much to you.
Happy journaling dear friend.
Until the next time
Take care and stay safe xx
