There are so many photos in my collection that could highlight my adventures through December, and the month isn’t even over yet.
However, one particular photo did stand out.
A very symbolic photograph for me.
Discovering a horseshoe nestled on a tree stump earlier this month, it felt like stumbling upon a timeless emblem of good fortune. As a horse lover, the horse shoe always represents a potent symbol, one that is steeped in history and tradition.
I’m sure in a previous life I was a cowgirl.
Finding a horseshoe is a charming reminder of the stories that I tell myself, one that binds luck to unexpected encounters. As I look forward to 2024, I hope my serendipitous find is a hint that my year will be filled with good health and wealth.
I’m late writing my daily monologues this Christmas Eve, no surprise really, as it is a time when the world seems to spin at varying speeds. How is the day going for you? Some of you might be in the flurry with last minute preparations. Meanwhile, some of you might be huddled in a quiet corner avoiding the rush and lost in a good book. For some, distance or circumstances might keep you far away from your loved ones, while others maybe yearning for the moment Christmas was well and truly over. Wherever you find yourself this Christmas Eve, my wish is that you’re able to embrace a moment to ‘pause for thought’ and enjoy a comfortable and warm Christmas Eve.
Until the next time
Take care and stay safe xx
If you do manage to find a few minutes of calm, here are a few therapeutic journaling prompts that aim to encourage mindfulness and proactive steps towards a more peaceful and meaningful Christmas Eve…
1. In what ways can you simplify your Christmas Eve to reduce the impact of commercialism and stress? Try and journal about practical steps to streamline your day.
2. Explore creative outlets as a means of coping with the rush. How can artistic expression serve as a refuge from the chaos?
3. Describe your ideal stress free Christmas Eve. What elements would be present and how would it differ from your current experience?
