In a world that has seen countless transformations and challenges, where the threads of our lives have been stretched and sometimes frayed, the essence of our connections remains as potent as ever.
I have just returned from hosting a women’s circle. A group of ladies that I used to know pre covid, who I used to hang out pre lockdown and now three years later due to feeling lonely and isolated due to WFH, selfishly I decided to reignite the friendship group - as I miss my sisterhood!
Our lives have pivoted, shifted and redefined themselves in countless ways since the world underwent a profound transformation. But as we emerged from these trails and tribulations, we find ourselves yearning for the familiar comfort of our shared stories - the good, the sad and the truly remarkable. These stories are the threads that weave the tapestry of our lives, and they deserve to be celebrated, understood and honoured.
I am thrilled to see the return of our women’s circle, a testament to the unwavering strength and resilience of the bonds that united us back in 2019 and even more so today. In rekindling this sisterhood, we are making a profound choice - a choice to come together and forge a path forward as a collective, to remind ourselves that we are stronger when we stand together, and that our shared stories, wisdom and support hold immeasurable power.
I booked a cool little venue in the heart of my local town, reached out to over 20 women and hosted a coffee get together with no expectations. We gathered, we shared stories and we connected, just like the good old days. If anything we uplifted each other and left with a spring in our step.
There was real feeling of togetherness and I’m really looking forward to hosting many more meet ups. Because this group of women will connect, maybe collaborate but more than anything they will start to thrive again.
Maybe you’ve recently started a women’s circle of your own or you’re looking to join one in your local community, I highly recommend it, because nothing beats a good old chin wag and a giggle with a sister from another mother.
My coffee meet up was a celebration of the sisterhood that time and distance have not diminished but rather deepened. This morning was a magical experience of reconnection, that I hope develops into a hive of activity and a place where my friends can all feel safe, nurtured and supported. My goodness, a face to face get together with likeminded women, has never been more needed. What was really refreshing, was the fact there wasn’t a zoom mute button in sight.
Until the next time
Take care & stay safe xx
This sounds fab and a lovely idea. I'm feeling the pull to do something similar as I don't know many people here yet (and I've been here over 3 years) and don't know where to start to meet up with like minded women. 🌻
I don’t think it’s selfish at all Tanya, I think you made a choice to change your WFH isolation and reconnect with old friends... and I imagine you weren’t the only one feeling that way 💞
Good on you! 💫
