If ever there was a “Note to Self” about taking the time to rest and go slow this Sunday, it’s this…
Remember when Sundays used to be sacred, a day reserved for rest, reflection and a moment to reclaim our peace? For me, those Sundays seem like a distant memory, as I catch myself rushing about the place first thing, even on a Sunday. As a mother, and a small business founder (a company of one), I don’t seem to have an off switch. The relentless to do lists, the constant of being in motion with life admin and errands, plus the heaviness that comes with feeling guilty when I eventually do sit down. But amidst my frenzy, there’s a precious gift awaiting, the art of making oneself a priority, especially on a Sunday morning.
When was the last time you truly made space for yourself ?
Today, I’m going to rewind to honour those forgotten Sundays and restore their essence. You might care to join me to pause for thought, by opening your journal and reclaim the calmness with some Sunday WORD:ship journalling prompts.
This is your opportunity to take ten minutes to reflect and nurture your inner self amidst the buzz of the world around you. Busy or not, let’s carve out a moment for some personal restoration and growth. I dare you to daydream, then to journal for the next few minutes, try and soak up these prompts and grant yourself this gift of a ‘go slow’ Sunday morning…
1. Recall a moment from a past sunny day that holds a sense of peace. Write about how you can recreate the same calmness today, whatever the weather.
2. Reflect on the impact of social media on your Sundays. How would your day change if you consciously unplugged from these platforms for just a day or a few hours even?
3. Write a heartfelt letter to someone special in your life. What would you tell them about yourself, maybe you could describe the adventures you enjoyed recently, highlighting plans for the summer, and the hope of meeting up one day soon.
4. If you could redesign your ideal Sunday, what would it look like? Describe your dream in detail, focusing on activities that bring you joy and the things you’d love to indulge in.
5. What does rest mean to you? Describe the feeling of true restfulness and how it impacts your mental and emotional state?
Feel free to explore these prompts at your own pace and let them guide you into a deeper reflection on the value of Sundays and the power of mindful journalling. I’m off to read my book “You Are Only Just Beginning” by Morgan Harper Nichols. I love the cover of this beautiful book, Morgan has an uncanny way of helping me to slow down!

Until the next time
Take care & stay safe xx

Ooh I love that book! So poetic and when I read it last year every time I opened the page it seemed to speak to something that was going on that day. Magic.
Hope you've had a wonderfully restorative Sunday x
