This is my 5th day of my wellbeing week at the ‘House on the Beach’ and I wish the world would stop spinning, so I could jump off. Time is zooming by and I want it to slow down. To be honest, I never ever want to leave this little coastal bay. Have you ever felt so at home and grounded in a place, that you can’t imagine living anywhere else? This is how I feel every time I spend time here.
My home is in Cardiff, a bustling and vibrant city. If I ever had to choose a city to work and live in, it would always be Cardiff. Why? Because it is less than an hour’s drive to the Brecon Beacon mountains, which is home to the dark sky reserve and within 10 minutes you’re surrounded by stunning coastline, I’m not sure there is a city quite like Cardiff. Even though the metropolis of Cardiff is full of vibrancy and bursting with entrepreneurial energy, I crave the coast of wild West Wales. I’m magnetised to the sleepy shores, the empty beaches and the winding country lanes.
West Wales, is the one place that grounds me.
There is something inherently therapeutic about being so close to this particular ocean. I love the rugged coastline. The tiny hamlets hidden from view. But staying in the House on the Beach, I can almost touch the waves from my bed and breathe in the salty air. Each morning when I wake up here, I feel reconnected to the present moment, and comforted by a huge sense of calm.
You’d love it here!
The ocean's energy has such a grounding effect on my own energy, do you ever feel this when you’re by the coast? It makes me feel rooted, stable and balanced and I guess this is why I never want to leave the House on the Beach.
"With each step, feel the earth beneath your feet, grounding you in the present moment and anchoring your spirit."
While I sit here with my journal, daydreaming and allowing my thoughts to wander, I wish everyone could experience what I’m experiencing here right now. So if you’re miles away from the sea and in the journaling mood, please help yourself to these prompts, inspired by the ocean and created just for you…
1. Describe the sensation of sand between your toes and the sound of waves crashing against the shore.
2. Reflect on a time when you felt overwhelmed or stressed. How might spending time at the ocean have helped you in that moment?
3. Write about a memorable experience you’ve enjoyed at the ocean, how did it make you feel?
4. Imagine yourself sitting by the ocean, letting go of any worries or burdens. What emotions come up for you?
5. Consider how you can incorporate the grounding energy of the ocean into your daily life, whether through visualisation, meditation or spending more time in nature.
Sending you lots of ocean vibes from my “House on the Beach”.
Until next time
Take care and stay safe xx

A girl after my own heart!
Love the beach.
There is nothing quite like the peacefulness of hearing the sounds of the waves lapping on shore, the birds circling looking for food or the wind whispering through the grasses.
