There seems to be a growing demand for IRL (in real life) women circles - hooray! Gone are the days of the “Pitch & Bitch” type networking, as there’s a new sanctuary emerging for creative women in the age range of 40-80.
Picture this, a local bar exuding Swiss alpine aura, complete with a crackling fire, creamy hot chocolates and an ambience that wraps around you like a snug blanket. That’s the scene I crave to enjoy connection and collaborations with other business founders.
Gone are the days where I like to attend meticulously planned corporate events with structured agendas, swarming with suited and booted executives. Today, I’m embracing a different kind of business gathering, one where vulnerability, authenticity and the comfort of genuine sisterhood take centre stage. I’m attending because it was my idea to create such an event and it’s called “Connect with Ease”. It isn’t about projecting an ‘everything’s okay’ facade; it’s about being raw, real and open to leaning on each other when needed.
Just a month ago, we convened for the first time. Tears were shed, stories unfolded - stories filled with complexities and challenges. But amidst these difficult conversations, incredible women found solace and a sense of unity. My guests left with a smile on the face, carrying hope within, knowing they were no longer alone on their journey.

“I thoroughly enjoyed last months 'Connect with ease’, not knowing anyone other than Tanya, I was a bit apprehensive but it was such a lovely, relaxed gathering of likeminded ladies. It was so nice to be able to share about life ups and downs, and a little bit about business. To also appreciate we’re not alone and we’re all dealing with the same highs and lows. It really helped my state of mind on both a practical and emotional level. Thanks Tanya for bringing us together, you really rock at this ‘connecting with ease’ stuff” VN
As I engaged in intimate conversations with these women, the aftershocks of the pandemic are unmistakeable. Managing personal lives alongside the grind of being ‘ a company of one’ poses its own set of tribulations. These aren’t easy conversations to have, but they are so necessary. What these women truly crave is a safe place, to be heard without judgement, to share their struggles and to be reminded that seeking help is not a sign of weakness.
Today’s gathering promises a good giggle with friends, perhaps even an inkling of festive cheer - I might even be tempted to order a mince pie with my coffee. But more importantly, it’s a haven where women can authentically connect, find solace and navigate life’s intricacies together.
Until the next time
Take care & stay safe xx
It sounds great but I’d have to find the women first. Not easy for introverts. :)
This sounds wonderful Tanya 💜
