There’s something quite magical that happens when you push open those heavy library doors. The familiar scent of aged paper greets you like an old friend, and time seems to slow down as you step into a place where possibilities stretch endlessly before you. Well in some libraries they do, in others they can be quite busy, bustling hubs, which is a much needed community that needs to offer a safe and warm place for those in need of one. No matter how quiet or busy a library is, each one I’ve recently discovered becomes my new favourite hiding place, a sanctuary where the chaos of modern life fades away.
