Dear Friend
How are you feeling today? Hopefully you’re in a calm and relaxed mood, while you take the time to read through your Substack newsletters.
I’m in bibliotherapy heaven right now, lots of books have been gifted to me recently, and the stack is growing beautifully, don’t you just love looking at a TBR stack or two?!
One book that is missing off my stack, but is on pre-order, is Tell Me Everything by Elizabeth Strout. There are moments in my life, when I’ve encountered a book or author that speaks directly to my soul, that author is Pulitzer Prize winning Elizabeth Strout. Have you read any of her books? Are you a super fan like me?
Her writing is a mirror, reflecting the complexities of real life through characters that feel more like old friends than fictional characters. Stout’s latest novel, set to be released this September, on the 10th to be precise, continues the journey of one of my most favourite protagonists, Lucy Barton. In this new story, Lucy finally meets the iconic Olive Kitteridge, now residing in a retirement home. It’s been described as a hopeful, healing novel about new friendships, old loves and the deep seated human desire to leave a mark on the world.
Why Elizabeth Strout resonates with me
