Yesterday, I took to Instagram LIVE, with a wonderful woman, fellow Substacker
to share her untold cancer story. It was more than an interview, it was a powerful testament to resilience, healing and the transformative power of therapeutic journaling. I had the honour of talking with Julie, whose journey through Stage 3 breast cancer led her to a profound discovery, the therapeutic release found within the pages of a journal.Julie’s story is one of unwavering courage and vulnerability. Facing the depths of her emotions - anger, frustration and the weight of uncertainty - she turned to journaling as her guiding light through the darkest of times. In our conversation, she shared the transformational experiences she encountered since joining my “rage on a Page” series.
Together,
and I desired to amplify her story. Not for applause or recognition, but as a beacon of hope for anyone silently battling their own storm. We wanted to offer solace, understanding and support to those who might be navigating their lowest moments, for those seeking an outlet to channel their emotions. It was a moving yet fun conversation. I am in awe of Julie, no matter how poorly she feels, her upbeat approach, sheer determination and grit to soldier on always inspires me. Like many other women who are battling their cancer, this is one story that needed to be shared.
And so his is my WHY - the driving force behind teaching therapeutic journaling. No one woman should have to endure the weight of cancer alone. Julie’s journey of journaling through her cancer underscores the vital role of community, expression and support during such trying times.
Through this community, my mission stands clear - to extend the reach of therapeutic journaling as a healing balm for the soul. Each shared story, each shared word, has the potential to be the lifeline for someone in need.
Today, I invite you to support this mission, not merely by subscribing to my Substack, but by sharing my message to your network. Together, let’s spread the power of therapeutic journaling, ensuring that no woman - no person - feels isolated in their struggle. One day, one word at a time, I want to be the catalyst for healing someone’s life. Thank you for being a part of this journey, it really does make all the difference.
If you’d like to watch the recording of the interview, it is saved over on my instagram grid. Please bare with the first few seconds of me trying to fix all the tech drama. It’s worth the wait. My Journaling Journey Through Cancer
Until the next time
Take care and stay safe xx
Tanya I can’t thank you enough for this opportunity, to share my experience in the hope that it offers others support, hope or comfort 💕
I thoroughly enjoyed the Instagram Live chat with you! 🤩 and I’m excited to see where the rest of my ‘Rage on a Page’ journey takes me 😍
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart 💫
Thank you both. Julie is an inspiration to us all and explains the benefits of therapeutic journalling so well. It is something I have yet still to get entirely to grips with. Yet I know if I write my rawest emotions on a page it helps. I am just so so sorry that Julie is on the cancer journey. Not one anybody should have to travel.xxx
