Dear Friend
How are you today?
I’m struggling with a little insomnia, I think I’ve had a maximum of 3 hours sleep, so I’ll be fuelled by coffee and Danish pastries for most of the day. Please bare with my writing, it might be a little scrappy.
So last night I hosted an in-real life journaling workshop and WOW what an event it was. Just look at the smiles on the ladies faces in the photo above!
There’s something truly magical about bringing together a group of like minded women, united by their passion for self-discovery and personal growth. I promised myself this year I would get out into my local community and host more events, like I used to do pre-pandemic, yesterday was a reminder of why I love hosting such gatherings.
Last night’s workshop was no exception. I witnessed firsthand the power of connection and collaboration as women came together to explore the world of journaling. Some were understandably nervous and unsure at first, doubting if journaling was for them. But as the evening unfolded, something beautiful happened…
Tears were shed, stories were shared and vulnerabilities were embraced. Despite the initial apprehension, all the ladies in the workshop found the experience thought-provoking and profound. There was such an outpouring of love and support in the room, where the ladies courageously opened up about their sorrows, frustrations and hopes for the future. It’s such a privilege to be given the opportunity to hold space for theses remarkable ladies.
What struck me the most was the sense of empowerment that emerged throughout the session. Some of the women messaged me after the event saying they felt inspired, and motivated to adopt a journaling practice into their daily lives. It’s moments like these that remind me of the transformative power of the work that I’m doing.
Reflecting whilst walking this morning, I reminded myself about why I do what I do. And why no matter how many curve balls life throws at me, I’ll continue on with my mission - to help as many women as possible, learn how to channel their emotions into something more positive and creative through the practice of therapeutic journaling.
"Believe in yourself, take on your challenges, dig deep within yourself to conquer fears. Never let anyone bring you down. You’ve got to keep going." - Chantal Sutherland
I’ve curated a few prompts around the theme “believing in yourself”. These prompts are designed to help you tap into your inner strength, embrace your authenticity and cultivate a deeper sense of self-confidence.
1. Reflect on a time when you overcame a significant challenge or obstacle. How did you summon the courage and resilience to persevere?
2. Write a letter to your future self, expressing belief in your abilities and affirming your worthiness.
3. Make a list of your strengths, talents and accomplishments. Celebrate the unique qualities that make you who you are.
4. Journal about a recent accomplishment or success, no matter how small. Celebrate your progress and acknowledge your hard work.
5. Imagine your inner critic as a separate entity. Have a conversation with this critic and challenge its negative assertions with kindness and compassion.
As you explore these journaling prompts, remember that believing in yourself is not just a destination but a journey.
Note To Self - it’s about embracing your worthiness and trusting in your ability to navigate life’s challenges with grace and resilience. I hope these prompts will serve a as guiding light for you today, because I know they will for me!
Until the next time
Take care and stay safe xx
