Behind the serene facade of Ease Retreats lies a flurry of activity and anticipation. As the founder of this small haven of creative souls, my days leading up to my next writing retreat are a whirlwind, bustling with last minute preparations, meticulous planning, and a dash of nervous excitement.
This Friday I’m co-hosting a day retreat featuring the remarkable and super talented writer
With her expertise, she’ll guide 15 of our guests through the elusive art of Creative Unblocking - an oasis for all of us thirsting for inspiration, including me.In the countdown to the retreat, it’s a maze of coordination; arranging travel plans, perfecting venue details, fine tuning catering and ensuring every aspect is aligned for a seamless and unforgettable day. Amidst this orchestrated chaos, it’s only natural that I feel a flutter of nerves, the “what if’s” and “maybes” dancing in my mind at 3am earlier this morning. Yet now, I’ve made a promise to myself; to lean into the joy and excitement that this upcoming retreat promises.
One of my objectives since I launched Ease Retreats, was to host creative and wellbeing events in coastal or country abodes off the beaten track, away from the city lights and maddening crowds. It is a big ask for some guests, to travel so far, especially if they don’t have access to a car or depend on traveling by foot or public transport to get from A to B. However, the journey to and from the retreat is part of the whole experience. To venture out, far away from the comfort of your own city, away from normal and the predictable. Explaining to the guests that they will be super looked after, made to feel very welcomed. A full day where they will feel relaxed and comfortable, whilst enjoying good conversation, feast on nutritious foods and learn something new with likeminded souls. I promise the guests they will arrive as strangers and leave as friends.
This Friday the topic of Creative Unblocking couldn’t be more timely, an elixir for us all seeking a rekindling of our creative flames. Yes, even for me, the founder of this haven. I’m looking forward to being host to my guests, embracing the enchantment of the day and the invaluable lessons to be learned from the ever so lovely Emma Gannon. I anticipate a day where creative energies flow freely, personal stories shared and new ideas ignited.
So as my ‘to do’ list grows around me, I’m steadying myself, preparing to dive into a sea of inspiration and possibility, allowing the excitement to overshadow the nervous hum. I’m looking forward to sharing the experience here on Substack, with you all one day next week.
Until the next time
Take care & stay safe xx
