Virginia Woolf was onto something when she spoke of needing a room of one’s own. What she didn’t mention was that sometimes, that room works even better when it has wheels and an ocean view.

I never imagined that such a subtle shift in location would transform my writing practice so profoundly. Yet here I am, in my camper van, my modest mobile sanctuary - writing more consistently than I have in years. The book that has lived in fragments and false starts for so long is finally taking shape, one paragraph at a time.

There’s something about this space that feels both contained and infinite. The van itself is small, intimate, without distractions of home, no laundry to put out, no dis…
