I’ll share mine if you share yours…
What’s your weekend book stack looking like? Does your stack have a theme? What book mood are you in today? Maybe like me you love a memoir? Or are you inclined to read some poetry? I’d like to dive into a gripping crime novel but unsure which author to pick - any suggestions?
My weekend stack is a little random.
I decided to pull out one book off each shelf, and there are many book shelves and book stacks taking up space around my little house. What about you? Do you have books all over the place, even hidden somewhere just in case you get rumbled for buying yet another new book. I know all about it. I just think, there could be worse things to be addicted to, and I’m actually quite alright with my book addiction.
What do you think of my latest stack?
Lost Dog by Kate Spicer - I adore Kate’s writing, she is a journalist, author and broadcaster. In this memoir she shares her journey of adopting and caring for a rescue dog and the profound impact it had on her life. Show me a book about a woman and her dog any day!
The Conversations by Olivia Fane - this book is a unique exploration of various philosophical questions through a series of fictional conversations between a therapist and her patients. I loved the ‘food for thought’ questions at the end of each chapter, which I’ve on occasion used as journaling prompts.
Delicacy by Kate Wix - I’ve not yet read this memoir but it caught my eye with the words cake and death.
The Year Living Danishly by Helen Russell - I’m in love with the Danes. Have you ever been to Denmark? If you have and love the Danish you’ll love this memoir. One I could read over and over.
Copenhagen Style Guide - I could flick through the pages of this book on a daily basis. What isn’t there to love about this stylish, chic and oh so romantic city.
Do What You Love, Love What You Do by Holly Tucker - this is a classic guide book if you’re considering taking the leap from your corporate job to start your own business, especially if you’re desperate to do something more creative. Holly is an inspiration and always flies the flag for women in business. I learn something new every time I dip back into it.
I wonder which book will capture me the most?! Even though I’ve got my eye on a couple of new books, I’m going to stay well away from the bookstores today. It’s time to cosy up with the ridgebacks and spend some time with books from my ever growing TBR stack .
Let me know if you’ve read any of the books in my stack, especially if you have spotted a favourite, leave a comment about which ones you’ve enjoyed the most and why?
Until the next time, I hope you have a wonderful weekend
Take care & stay safe xx
I have read Holly’s book. I went to Copenhagen in May, absolutely love Denmark and their style x
For me it’s all about getting in the Halloween mood with some witchy/magic titles 🧙♀️
I have:
Juno Dawson - Her Majesty’s Coven and Shadow Cabinet
Marion Gibson - Witchcraft History in 13 trials
V.E Schwab - The Fragile Threads of Power
And I’m always dipping into Success Myth by Emma Gannon!
