At the beginning of September, I found a beacon illuminating my path, guiding me towards a purpose that resonated deep within my soul.  It actually started bubbling away this time last year, but I didn’t realise it was my calling back then.  This year, amidst the tumult of my life, I unearthed my North Star.  I established the profound mission that fuels my every step - empowering women to channel their emotions into something more positive and creative through the alchemy of therapeutic journaling.
I know it’s quite a statement, expressing that I have found my calling, my North Star, but it is a testament to the transformative power of turning the tides of my midlife emotion into something meaningful. Â
My burning desire is to share the profound impact of journaling, Â by hosting workshops and programs that unveil how journaling on a daily basis can weave its magic into the lives of overwhelmed, frustrated and usually angry women.
My journey isn’t one of conformity, far from it; as I’ve danced amidst drama and weathered storms of trauma in my own life.  I was bankrupt at 35; divorced twice by my early 40’s - only seeing my children 50% of the time; I lost my business during lockdown and was on the verge of homelessness.  But it hasn’t made me any less of a woman, if anything it’s made me stronger.  However, I walked the talk, I cried every tear and my heart bled dry with every emotion you could possibly think of.  I raged through the fire and my scars tell a remarkable story.  So when I meet women who are going through divorce, scared about homelessness, dealing with redundancy, battling cancer, suffering from domestic violence, I feel their pain. I listen and I empathise.
Here’s the thing, I tried therapy, committed to more physical exercise, improved my diet, avoided medication, you name it, I tried it.  The ONLY thing that helped me, helped my sanity, was my journal.  And this is why I feel so strongly about my mission in life, because I know I can help women heal from their traumatic experiences, help them embrace their rage and learn how to channel their emotions.
Through teaching my unique journaling techniques, my aim is to gift women the solace and empowerment that I’ve found within the pages of my own journals. No woman should be shackled by silence through the trails of menopause, the throes of illness, the heartache of divorce or the anguish of abuse.  Journaling is the key - an elixir to unlock self-esteem, increase self-confidence  and nurture holistic wellbeing
For me this mission isn’t just a noble pursuit, it’s a heartfelt desire to help and support women who maybe suffering in silence. I have witnessed women that have joined my workshops and programs find their vice within the pages.  It is a such a rewarding feeling because it resonates deeply within my own story of transformation.
I won’t ever give up and one day I hope I’ll be able to host my workshops and programs for FREE.  Maybe one day I’ll have my own therapeutic journaling retreat by the sea; a haven where women can come to stay, feel cared for, seen and heard, with the opportunity to rest and rejuvenate their souls.  In the meantime, I’ll keep hosting and holding space for the amazing women I meet along the way.
If you do have a moment this Christmas, please share my mission with your network, as you never know, your friend, sister, aunt, colleague, or neighbour, might be a woman in need. Â
Until the next time
Take care and stay safe xxx
