Gathered in a gorgeous venue in Oxford, after a fabulous mooch around Blackwells book shop this weekend, I felt an overwhelming sense of euphoria whilst hanging out with the students from my recent “Rage on a Page” series. These women, who were strangers just a few weeks ago, had transformed into a tight-knit community, bonded by their shared journey through therapeutic journaling. The air was filled with warmth and laughter, as we exchanged stories of growth, resilience and newfound friendships.
It was a poignant reminder of the deep craving we, as women, have for connection and community, especially in today’s fast-paced world.
“Since being on Rage on a Page it has enabled me to relate mental health theory to my own personal experiences, but most importantly, it’s encouraged me to recognise and release internal thoughts and emotions, which in turn leads to better psychological wellbeing. I believe you're going to change people's lives with your work Tanya! From the courses I've undertaken with you, I have solidified my commitment to journaling, and learnt so many new things about this incredible wellbeing tool”
As we hugged goodbye, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of bittersweetness. Our time together had been transformative, with each woman sharing how their journaling practice had evolved, bringing about emotional healing, improved self-esteem and a newfound sense of wellbeing.
Yet, as one chapter closes, another begins. With excitement and anticipation, I prepare to welcome a new group of students, each one embarking on their journey of self discovery and empowerment. For me, this work is not just a job; it is a mission - a calling to empower as many women as possible to make journaling a daily ritual, a source of strength and a pathway to inner peace.
I’m in the process of creating a “Rage on a Page” community here on Substack, each student, past and present will be invited to become a Founding member. In return for their commitment and investment, I shall be hosting a monthly online workshop, creating weekly personal journaling prompts, offering first refusal onto my writing & creative retreats with best selling authors, and an invitation to an end of year get together IRL. I’m hoping that over the coming months and years, the “Rage on a Page” community with grow and blossom, creating a journaling movement like no other. If you are a woman looking for an outlet to channel your emotions into something more positive and creative, let’s connect.
Until the next time
Take care and stay safe xxx
